Tarpa Agro-Eco Tourism
A Save Farm Experience
The Spirit of the Tarpa
In the forests of Northern Coastal Maharashtra, when the harvest moon rises and the community gathers, you'll hear a haunting melody drifting through the trees. This is the sound of the Tarpa - a sacred wind instrument crafted from gourds and bamboo by the Warli tribe, its notes calling people together in celebration for centuries.
Tarpa Agro-Eco Tourism, a part of Save Farm, was named after this ancient instrument. Just as the Tarpa brings the community together, our agro-eco tourism initiative brings city dwellers closer to nature, farming, and the rich cultural heritage of the Warli people in Dahanu's tribal belt.
Founded by Mr. Prabhakar Save over five decades ago, this pioneering venture introduced farm-based tourism to the Konkan region - blending organic agriculture, rural skill-building, nature trails, and indigenous cultural experiences. Today, at Save Farm's 25-acre working orchard in Gholvad, this tradition continues.
